Connect Apple iCloud Calendar

timum can be synced with your iCloud calendar to keep your availability up to date: iCloud appointments block your time in timum, and bookings from timum appear in your Apple Calendar.

Setup

  1. Open your Personal Settings.
  2. In the Connected Calendar Accounts section, find the iCloud Calendar tile. Click Connect with iCloud.
  3. A dialog asks for your Apple ID and an app-specific password. Your regular Apple password doesn't work here.
  4. Generate the app-specific password at appleid.apple.com: Sign In → App-Specific PasswordsGenerate Password, e.g. with the name "timum". Apple shows it only once.
  5. Switch back to timum, paste the password into the text field, and click Connect.
  6. The connection belongs to your user account. From now on, you can use it in all provider calendars where you are a team member and have the necessary permissions:
    • When creating a new property, select Import from iCloud. Each selected iCloud calendar becomes its own property.
    • Or connect an existing property to one of your iCloud calendars: open the property's settings and click Connect calendar in the bar at the top of the dialog.

Only you

Only the owner of an iCloud account can connect it, because only they can generate the app-specific password. Administrators can then import your connected calendars as properties, but cannot establish the connection for you.

Functions

  • Import: iCloud appointments are entered as blockers in timum.
  • Export: Bookings from timum appear in your Apple Calendar. VERIFY
  • Multiple calendars: You can connect several iCloud calendars; each belongs to one property.
  • Update: Apple doesn't report changes on its own. timum regularly re-reads your iCloud calendars – changes in iCloud therefore appear in timum with some delay. VERIFY: Intervall

Disconnecting

If you disconnect the account in your Personal Settings, timum removes the imported blockers. Appointments already booked remain intact.
